Abstract

Abstract The fundamental differences between the Hodgkin-Katz ionic theory of cellular electric potential and the surface adsorption theory of cellular electric potential (an integral part of the association-induction hypothesis) were summarized and compared with results of experiments designed to test these theories that had accumulated over a period of more than a quarter of a century.
