AbstractThe main aim of this paper is to introduce a new flexible distribution which generalizes the normal distribution. Some properties of the introduced distribution such as PDF, CDF, hazard function, quantiles, moments and generator are derived. Overdispersion, underdispersion and equidispersion are analyzed. The unknown parameters of the distribution are estimated by the maximum likelihood method. Illustrative examples of applicability and flexibility of the distribution in question are given. R software codes are presented in Appendix A.
