Abstract

Abstract We study the Jeans instability for a spherically symmetric expanding universe using an exact simulation code. The system, initially submitted to a white noise, breaks into clusters whose size is the smallest wavelength of instability (Jeans length). After this first step, the clustering process goes on and the simulations show that the system builds a hierarchical structure.
