Abstract

A physical simulation model has been constructed allowing the transformation of the most important vibrational properties of the real mill system into a mathematical-physical formalism. Parameters of the established system of differential equations were determined with the program system SYDA 02. It is demonstrated that the model with 19 degrees of freedom is suited for a torsional vibration analysis of the considered cold-rolling mill gauntry. Using this model it has been analyzed by which components parameter-excited torsional vibrations can be stirred-up and under which special circumstances damaging loads may occur.
