Coupling the ɛ as \(g_\varepsilonT_\mu^\mu\varepsilon \) to the trace of the usual symmetric energy-momentum tensor we obtain predictions for the decays of ψ and ψ′. If one takes mixing into account, the theory accommodates the observed widthsГ(ψ′ → ψ + π+π−) andГ(ψ → ω, ϕ + π+π−). A comparison with the e.m. mixing is made. We predict the π+π− distribution of the decay ψ′ → ψ + π+π− in excellent agreement with experiment. The decays ψ′, ψ → ω, ϕ + K+K− are predicted to be negligibly small, whereas ψ′ → 2π+2π−π0 should occur at a level of at least 0.3%.
