Abstract

Abstract Variations in the iron content of plasma evidently exist in normals because high values were generally found in the afternoon and evening and low levels were found during the night and early morning. There were also important fluctuations from day to day. Transferrin and total protein changes in the blood-serum were small. If the influence of the diet is eliminated the plasma-iron fluctuations are less but they do still exist.
