Abstract

This paper reviews the literature on juvenile fire-setting and reports the results of a psychiatric hospital chart study which compares children who have set fires with those who have no known history of fire-setting behavior. Demographic, historical, and clinical variables are considered. The data from this study suggest that, in this population, there is little significant difference between the two groups. The areas of significance are discussed and suggestions for future research are presented.
