Abstract

Abstract The apparatus, described in this paper, allows the extraction of a repetitive synchronized signal from a random stationary basic noise. Because of special characteristics of signal-noise, from a physics experiment (study of plasma instabilities, gas ionization by a laser beam), this extraction is performed with a multichannel sampling followed by addition in a digital memory. This apparatus extracts 16 samples (minimum interval between each sample : 10 ns) of a signal, the amplitude of which may vary in a ratio of 1 to 500 with a signal-to-noise ratio possible improvement of 700.
