Abstract

Abstract A numerical calculation for a bond-order soliton that is associated with a ring-torsion soliton is reported, on the basis of the extended Ginder-Epstein model for a pernigraniline-base polymer. A local mode of infrared active vibration around such a charged soliton was found at about 670 cm −1. The mode matches a low-frequency absorption peak of a Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy of a doped polyaniline.
