Abstract

Abstract We found that the action of a normally incident, circularly polarized, focused laser beam on the light-sensitive AgCl–Ag film generates a system of spontaneous gratings whose wave vectors orientation are subject to hexagonal symmetry. It is shown that two-dimensional Bragg diffraction plays a crucial role in the formation of this system.
