Abstract

Abstract Structural changes in Tl-2201, Tl-2212 and Y-123 with Ba partly substituted by Sr have been studied by neutron powder diffraction. As expected Sr doping results in a contraction of the unit cell in all three directions which is reflected in compression of the region around the Ba- site. The compounds nevertheless differ a lot in their response to Sr substitution with respect to changes in structure and properties.
