Abstract

Harrison Houser was born in 1866 in Port Townsend, Washington Territory and was brought to the Kittitas Valley by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Tillman Houser on June 16, 1868, his second birthday. The Housers were the first permanent family to settle in the valley where they homesteaded near the present-day Ellensburg, Washington. Harrison was a rancher his entire life in the valley. He married Katherine Huss, the daughter of Harvey Huss, another early pioneer. Harrison died on December 3, 1942.
