Abstract

Abstract In the past, in order to simulate concurrent activities, a complex mapping scheme had to be designed to enable a uniprocessor to emulate many processors. Real time simulation of concurrency was not possible, and the expense of true multiprocessor configurations was extremely high. Today, with the advent of multimicroprocessor systems, real time simulation of concurrent activities is possible at relatively low cost.
