A method for improving superconductivity in plate crystals of DyBa2Cu3Oy

Abstract

It is difficult to attain transition temperatures ( T c) higher than 90 K in plate (123) crystals in comparison with sintered material. We have found a new method to improve the T c's of single crystals with less than 90 K to 93.0–93.1 K (Δ T = 0.4–0.5 K) by paying special attention to the annealing process.
