Abstract

Abstract Resonance Raman and infrared transmission and reflection-absorption (RA) spectra of LB films of 3,3-dimethyl-2-[3-(3,3-dimethyl-1-octadecyl-2- indolinylidene)-1-propenyl]-1-octadecyl-3H-indolium iodide (NK-2665) indicate that it takes conformer A in the films and both the hydrocarbon chains and the central conjugated system of NK-2665 are neither parallel nor perpendicular to the substrate surface, but assume an intermediate orientation.
