Abstract

Abstract A case of survival despite an EEG in the alpha range during coma after cardiac arrest in connection with acute myocardial infarction is reported. The other 5 published cases are referred to. On the basis of the available literature it is concluded that it is impossible to determine the few patients who will survive despite ‘alpha-pattern coma’.
