Abstract

Abstract Analysis of the two-body πN decay for N ∗ (1500) and N ∗ (1690), produced by diffraction dissociation, shows that these states have spin 3 2 and 5 2 respectively, and odd relative parity. Both states are produced with helicity ± 1 2 in the t-channel.
