Abstract

Abstract The low angle structure factors of simple liquid metals are calculated using a hard sphere reference system together with the Cummings' potential in a Random Phase Approximation. The Percus-Yevick hard sphere solution has been improved by the use of the hard sphere Yukawa form. This results in good agreement with experiment for all the metals studied except lead.
