Abstract

Abstract Evidence exists that the population in the United States is aging (Pifer and Bronte 1986b, p. 3; U.S. Bureau of the Census 1983, p. 1; Longino 1986, p. 39). A population movement of such a nature raises a number of issues. Some of the issues that may have financial and/or accounting considerations are identified and their possible implications for accounting (including for accounting research) are discussed.
