Abstract

Abstract Antiproton-proton scattering and annihilation into KK is critically analyzed in the light of the new, precise data. Focus is on the forward scattering where angular and energy dependence is shown to a large extent to be a reflection of the long-range one-pion-exchange potential. It is shown that model predictions of the analyzing power are not a success and one obvious reason for this failure is demonstrated. The threshold behavior of the ϱ-parameter and annihilation into KK from atomic P-states are discussed with emphasis on the lack of theoretical understanding of these experimental results.
