Abstract

Abstract A computer technique has been used to carry out a kinetic investigation of homogeneous thermoactivated fracture of a system of quasi-elastic noninteracting chains simulating an oriented polymer under a constant tension and simultaneously under irradiation. The kinetic equations were solved numerically for various types of dependence of the probability of radiation rupture occurring for a single chain under stress. The dependence of radiation durability on the length distribution of bearing chains has been investigated, and relations between the latter and the parameter of the force dependence of the lementary act of radiation rupture have been obtained.
