Abstract

AbstractIt has been revealed that the modern sedimentation on the Laptev Sea shallows, which have been solely affected by erosion in the past, has intensified. This occurs against the background of a rise in sea level. The activation of the modern sedimentation is caused primarily by factors related to climate warming: a decrease in sea ice extent, as well as cryogenic and hydrodynamic processes. The sedimentation accompanied by the formation of islands is attributed to the rising positive morphostructures.
