The present course final project deals with the solid waste problem at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. There is currently no selective collect at the University and all waste are disposed in the same garbage can, with no separation or proper destination of the dump. In this work, binary collectors have been developed for the Campus, whose purpose is to separate and properly storage the waste. The project was carried out using the methodology of 'Design Thinking', through theoretical and field reserches with emphasis on the target audience. The result is a proposal of two external collectors, one for dry recyclable waste and another for residues and organic, which aims first to help and optimize the workstation from the garbage collectors who work everyday.
