Abstract

Abstract This paper outlines the fundamental elements which a national technology policy has in the framework of a market economy and identifies some arguments for establishing a European-wide technology policy. It presents a comparison of the utilization policies of the Member States of the European Community based on the preliminary results of studies in the twelve countries, which were funded by the Commission of the Community. A report based on the final results of those twelve studies will be submitted in autumn 1987.
