Abstract

Abstract In this paper we explore variations on the PTT closure for transient network models. These models are compared for the case of a steady shear flow using asymptotic analysis for large shear rates and using numerical solutions for all shear rates. The results show that including the changing number of junctions in the closure is necessary to reproduce the behavior of the full model.
