Abstract

Summary Two distinct calcium ionophores, A23187 and Br-X537A, act synergistically in translocating calcium from an aqueous into an organic phase. The inhibitory influence of sodium upon calcium translocation is less marked when the ionophores are used in combination instead of separately.
