Abstract

Abstract By using a carbon fibre bag containing lead concentrate as an anode in a synthetic acetate-perchlorate electrolyte, the extent of anodic dissolution of lead has been found to be better than 80%, and the lead deposition on the cathode has been found to be almost equivalent to the lead dissolved from the anode. Complexing agents such as EDTA help in obtaining flaky deposits. This process seems to solve many of the problems which arise when cast or compressed anodes are used.
