Abstract

Abstract A class of peptides is described without significant effect on the sleep-waking cycle. Neurotensin (300 ng, 2 μg intraventricularly (IVT)), ß.-Endorphin (1 μg IVT), met-Enkephalin (1 μg IVT), leu-Eukephalin (1 μg IVT) and Cholecystokinin-octapeptide (100 ng, 1 μg IVT, 2 μg/kg intraperitoneally (IP)) injected during the light period, did not induce significant changes in the sleep parameters of the rat.
