Abstract

Summary During a period of 14 years 4881 badgers and 613 other free-living wild animals, representing 15 different species of mammals and 30 different species of birds from the County of Cornwall were examined for the presence of salmonellae. Twenty-six serotypes and one non-motile strain were isolated from the badgers and four serotypes from the other species.
