Abstract

The role of the natural environment in the development of society has long been the subject of study by Marxist-Leninist theory. A characteristic feature of the society-nature interface is that the environment is one of the conditions of development of production as a process that takes place between society and nature. People use this condition depending on the attained level of the productive forces and production relations. The society-nature interface differs in each stage of social development, and man's use of the natural environment in a modern capitalist economy and under socialism â in the stage of developed socialist society â is earmarked by unique features.
