Abstract

Abstract The time-dependent behaviour of two reactors, one uncontrolled and the other controlled by means of a specified automatic control system, are analysed and compared. Conditions are established to rule out overshoots over the final stationary values of power and temperature, and upper limits of the overshoots are calculated (in the Appendix) when these conditions are not satisfied. Finally some attention is given to the influence of the delayed neutrons.
