Abstract

Abstract The review considers categories of materials as defined by their primary constituent. Products based on the transition metals - iron, cobalt and nickel - will be considered first, followed by aluminium-based alloys and other non-ferrous materials. A forecast is given for the periods of likely applications in industry sectors.
