Temperature effects in two-phonon spectra

Abstract

Abstract A number of vibrational spectra peculiarities in crystals are predicted in this paper, which appear at high temperatures ( kT ⪆ ℏω) in the summation and difference tones of vibrations. It is shown that the anharmonic interaction between the phonons grows with temperature, which leads to splitting of levels of both summation and difference biphonons from the two-particle bands. The dielectric permittivity of the crystal for the above spectral regions is calculated.
