Overhauser shift and dynamic nuclear polarization in InP

Abstract

Abstract The Conduction Electron Spin Resonance (CESR) of n-doped InP is shifted in frequency by the hyperfine interaction with the In and P nuclei (Overhauser shift). In thermal equilibrium we deduce the conduction electron density | ψ ( r k ) | 2 at the 115In and 31P sites. By partially saturating the CESR, the nuclei are dynamically polarized. The Overhauser enhancement factors V and the nuclear spin lattice relaxation time T 1 are determined for both In and P.
