Abstract

Abstract The adsorption of partially hydrolyzed (0, 4, 16%) polyacrylamides on titanium dioxide in an aqueous medium was studied to analyze the influence of pH, ionic strength, and the presence of Ca 2+ complexing ions. Experimental results cannot be explained solely by considering the variation of the polymer's and surface's charge densities. An important parameter concerning the polymer's affinity for the surface could be the variation of its solubility in the medium.
