Abstract

Abstract 1. 1. Acetazolamide in doses of 5–50 mg/kg was given intraperitoneally to fresh-water turtles, Pseudemys scripta, and urinary volume and electrolyte concentration were measured. 2. 2. The drug caused a significant diuresis, an increase in urinary sodium, potassium and bicarbonate excretion and an increase in urinary pH.
