Abstract

Brief alcohol interventions in trauma centers have been shown to reduce injury recidivism but have not been analyzed for cost-benefit. An estimated 27% of injured patients are candidates. The cost savings of an intervention is $330 for each patient offered an intervention, or a savings of $3.81 for every $1.00 spent.
