Abstract

Abstract A theory is presented of the Aharonov-Bohm interference effect in a mesoscopic ring subjected to both magnetostatic and electrostatic potential. Their combination exibits some new aspects of quantun oscillation. We derive the phase shift relations and quantum oscillations with periods of half the flux quantum h/2e are predicted both electrostatic and magnetostatic AB oscillations. A full taxonomy is established and confirmed by numerical calculations.
