It was Mamutanotutumi that was thought of as a breakthrough in land-developing, which made people develop kind of some abandoned wasteland , whose natural levee did not function well enough, providing an opportunity to use the baren land into a rice field in the context that those at that time live around natural levee in Yodo-Gawa as a center. So, the name of the river bank, Mamutanotutumi was derived from Ujina that took the lead in the embankment; also, Mamutanotutumi was contsructed using the natural levee(S) set up on the area ranged from Ikaga through Taima, which was noticeably branched from Yodo-Gawa to near Hiraike, where Hurukawa was channeled from Yodo-Gawa. In addition, MamutanoMuraji, a lineage of HataUji that comprised MamutanoMuraji-MamutanoSuguri-Hatabito took such opportunity as levee works; made good use of river systims in Yodo-Gawa; employed profitably surrounding farm land, which enabled MamutanoMuraji to extend the strength in the area of Kitakawachi using the river system or exploiting the surrounding farmlands, with its contribution to the river embankment in Yodo-Gawa. Having its roots in this situation, MamutanoMuraji flourished as a powerful local ruling family to the degree where the family helped Keitai-tenno ascend the throne. In consequence,
