Abstract

Abstract We consider the possibility that a two Higgs-doublet extension of the standard model can explain the ζ(8.3). If the ζ is a 0 +, a renormalisation group analysis shows that the charge 2 3 and −1 3 quarks must couple to different doublets, and a fourth generation is excluded.
