Abstract

Abstract Data processing disaster recovery applies to the computing enviroment principles and methods generally followed in restoring operations after a catastrophic incident. Prompt restoration of essential computing activities is the goal of this process. The effects of both natural and manmade disasters must be prepared for. A disaster recovery coordination team must be formed. A realistic risk analysis is called for. The disaster recovery plan itself must have at least essential sections. The plan itself must be tested frequently in a realistic environment. A mechanism for protecting vital data processing records must be created.
