Panchakarma, a comprehensive, and an integral part of Ayurvedic treatment and have its role in every therapeutic condition. There has been a phenomenal increase in the demand for specialized therapies of Ayurveda, particularly Panchakarma, not only for treatment of diseases but also for preventive and promotive health care. It has been observed that many health centers being run in the name of Panchakarma centers are actually not providing authentic Panchakarma but in a form that has deviated from original concepts and practices. If Panchakarma therapy not used in proper dose, in recommended indications and with proper environment, it may leads to complications. It is important to ensure that Panchakarma therapy is administered as per standard operating procedures. Also standardization helps in providing effective therapeutic results and minimizing the chances of complications.
