Born in Geseke (Westphalia) in 1878, Moritz Wallach was the owner of a "Trachten" store and the founder of the "Museum fuer Volkskunst" in Munich in 1920. During the Hitler coup in Munich in November 1923, Moritz Wallach was taken hostage by the Nazis. He emigrated to the USA in 1938. He died in Lime Rock (Connecticut) in 1963.
