Abstract

Abstract We discuss instanton-induced multiparticle production and argue that the classical-field approximation does not necessarily result in positive definite n-particle cross sections. The point is substantiated by consideration of scalar particle production. Unitarity cuts in multi-instanton amplitudes are also discussed. Further evidence for an early onset of unitarity constraints due to multi-instanton contributions is found.
