Abstract

Abstract Ninety percent of hospitalized patients will receive some form of IV therapy during their stays. All forms of venous access have the potential for serious complications. Health care providers need to be able to recognize IV complications and risk factors. This poster illustrates basic venous anatomy and venous access devices. Images of complications accompany descriptions and suggested interventions.
