Abstract

Abstract Sodium dodecyl sulfate can be rapidly and simply removed from polyacrylamide gels by transverse electrophoresis for 40 min in isopropanol/acetic acid/water in the presence of mixed bed ion-exchange resin. This allows subsequent staining of protein bands and their visualization in as little as 10 min.
