Abstract

Abstract The spin-glass phase in a single-site, random anisotropy, N-component spin model is considered. The spectrum of gaussian fluctuations about the N → ∞ saddle-point solution, valid between two and four dimensions, is studied in a 1/ N expansion. The “replicon” eigenmode acquires a finite negative mass (of order 1/ N); therefore, it is unstable.
