Abstract

Abstract We have shown that GABA-stimulated chloride influx into membrane vesicles from the rat cerebral cortex can be enhanced or inhibited by β-carbolines. The β-carbolines can produce a full spectrum of responses from maximal enhancement to maximal inhibition.
