Abstract

Abstract A new experimental method for testing the dynamic tensile behavior of concrete at high strain rates was designed and established. By using this method, the dynamic tensile strength of concrete and its dependence on strain rates were measured and investigated. The experimental results indicate that the dynamic tensile strength of concrete is rate sensitive. The numerical simulation results have a good agreement with the experimental data and can be used for further research.
