Abstract

Abstract The 1,2,3 phases of metal titanium phosphates, MTi 2(PO 4) 3 with M=Na, K, or Ag, have been prepared by reaction of the corresponding cations with phosphoric acid and anatase or titanic acid under milder condition and with shorter reaction time than previously reported. The pH value of the reaction media as well as the reaction time and temperature are key for the formation of the products. The products obtained from reaction with titanic acid are single phase whilst those with anatase sometimes show traces of unreacted TiO 2.
